You Want Them to Remember Your Style, Not Your Scary Ass Forehead

I don’t know if y’all have noticed but – I got a big ass forehead.

Like it’s so big, that if I’m not careful, airplanes could mistake it for a landing strip and land on that mug real quick.

You probably haven’t noticed though because well – you’re always looking at my outfit…and that’s the point (mwahaha).

We all have something that we’re insecure or self-conscious about, so we do whatever we can to draw attention away from it – or hide it.

I love that you can do that with style.

Gotta little more stomach? Distract the eye from it with a high-waisted A-line skirt. Got bigger boobs? Draw the eye away with statement high-waisted trousers. The possibilities are endless and that’s what I want you to understand.

Because if I’m being honest, style is a powerful tool.

When you’re dressed in clothing that you love, you feel more confident. And when you feel more confident, you carry yourself differently – and people notice. You walk into a room, head held high, wearing the baddest outfit known to man is bound to get people’s attention – to get them talking.

And trust me, we want people to start talking. Because once they start talking, you’ll no longer feel invisible. And when you no longer feel invisible, you suddenly feel like you can take on the world because you’ll begin receiving compliments and opportunities you didn’t before.

You want them to remember you for your immaculate taste in clothing, not the fact that you’re insecure.

One of my goals as a Stylist is to help you develop the confidence to take risks with your style. When you're self-conscious about a certain part of your body, you tend to either hide it with baggy clothing or give up hope.

Wearing baggy clothing is one of the most obvious nonverbal ways of saying that you're insecure. And no, I'm not talking about wearing it as a fashion statement.

Here's the difference:

When you're wearing baggy or oversized clothing as a statement, you walk into the room with your head held high, shoulders back, and the confidence many only dream of having.

But when you walk into the room with the same baggy clothing with the intention of trying to hide -  your shoulders are slouched, your posture is a joke, and it's obvious that you have zero confidence in yourself.

See what I mean?

Don't fool yourself into thinking that just because you have a little bit more stomach, wear a size 22, or have shorter legs that you can’t be stylish.

These are all lies. And I want you to realize that. I want you to believe that regardless of what shape you are, there’s something that works for you – that style works for you. You just have to find the right resources to guide you on this journey of discovery.

I want you to know that it won’t always be easy. You’ll encounter roadblocks and negative thoughts will creep into your mind. You’ll be tempted to give up and think that you aren’t good enough to wear your dream style. As soon as those thoughts occur, I want you to block them. I want you to switch your mindset and replace those negative thoughts with positive ones.

Remind yourself of who you are, whose you are, and who you want to be. Because at the end of the day, you’re still fine af boo.

Even if you do have a big ass forehead.💜
